FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DOES THE ONLINE TRAINING WORK?
The online training includes lectures, assignments, and direct feedback from our instructors. The modules are designed to be at your own pace, so you can complete the work when it is convenient for you. Some assignments may require you to demonstrate technique via video, whereas others may be reflections or quizzes. Think of the online training as direct one-on-one mentorship, but your mentor on the other side of a screen. You get to develop a personal, first-name basis with an expert in the field who you can always return to for additional guidance!
HOW DOES THE INSTITUTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION WORK?
The Institutional Subscription serves as a database for your company, department, school, or production. In the institutional subscription are all of the modules of the Core Curriculum, Somatic Regulation and Facilitation courses, and bonus learning content that can be implemented into classroom content. You can download this helpful infographic or access the institutional subscription directly here for more information.
DO YOU OFFER CERTIFICATION?
Rather than follow the certification model, Heartland offers Certificates of Completion upon completing each module. This Certificate of Completion reflects how many hours of training you have received in intimacy work and provides context as to how much experience you have in intimacy work. These certificates of completion could also be used for professional development credit.
IS HEARTLAND INTIMACY DESIGN'S CORE CURRICULUM A SAG-AFTRA ACCREDITED TRAINING PROGRAM?
According to the accreditation standards for the SAG-AFTRA registry, training programs are required to offer a minimum of 75 hours of training. Because Heartland only offers 10, Heartland is not an accredited program with SAG-AFTRA at this time. However, the requirements for working on union sets and for you to be a member of the SAG/AFTRA registry does not require you to have training from an accredited organization. From the standards document: "Certificate of completion, confirmation email or receipt for online courses, workshops, seminars, SAG-AFTRA intimacy coordinator accredited and non-accredited intimacy coordinator programs will qualify." So, this training does enable you to work on union sets and allow you to apply for pre-registry or registry to be a "registered" intimacy coordinator with SAG-AFTRA. Think of Heartland's Core Curriculum as one step of many in order to qualify for registry as a SAG-AFTRA intimacy coordinator.
